From Corpus to Classroom: Analyzing Discourse Markers (French–Spanish) as a Tool for Teaching Functional Grammar

Abstract: This presentation proposes the use of French and Mexican oral corpora in teaching functional grammar to future teachers and translators of French as a foreign language. Through a contrastive analysis of discourse markers used in opinion exchanges in Spanish and French, the talk aims to promote the learning of language structures as they appear in authentic contexts and to encourage reflection on the function of the target language.

A Syntactic–Pragmatic Analysis of the Discourse Marker ouais and Its Didactic Perspectives

Abstract: This talk presents a syntactic–pragmatic annotation framework for the discourse marker ouais in the MPF (Multicultural Paris French) spontaneous speech corpus. The analysis reveals a correlation between its discursive function and syntactic position. The presentation concludes by outlining several didactic perspectives.
